High Surf Advisory along North and East facing shores until Sunday (Nov 27)

By Hawaii 24/7 Staff

The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for North and East facing shores of the Big Island until 6 p.m. Sunday (Nov 27).

A large North Northwest swell combined with wind induced waves are forecast to generate rough surf of 19-23 feet along North facing shores and six to eight feet on East facing shores.

The large breaking waves and rip currents generated by the surf can be hazardous for beachgoers so caution is advised.

A Gale Watch is in effect through Sunday afternoon for the Pailolo and Alenuihaha Channels. A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Hawaiian waters.
