Police searching for missing Kona teen

Hawaiʻi island police have located 16-year-old Shellsea Gouveia-Asuncion of Kona, who was reported missing.

She was found April 3.

Big Island police are looking for two sisters who failed to return to their Kailua-Kona foster home.

Brandi Asuncion-Gouveia, 14, has been missing since last Friday (November 11). She is described as about 5-foot-6, about 150-160 pounds with a fair complexion, a heavy build, long brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a dark shirt and a gray-and-white striped jacket.

Shellsea Asuncion-Gouveia, 13, has been missing since Tuesday (November 15). She is described as 5-foot-3, about 110 pounds with a fair complexion, a thin build, black medium-length hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue Hurley shirt and a blue baseball cap. She was carrying a blue Phineas/Ferb backpack.

Police ask that anyone with information on their whereabouts call Officer Robert Sakata at 326-4646, extension 276, or the Police Department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311.

Tipsters who prefer to remain anonymous may call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 in Hilo or 329-8181 in Kona.
