Child Car Seat and Booster Seat Inspections
Child Passenger Safety Technicians certified by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration will be checking all child car and booster seats 10 a.m. to noon Friday (Nov 18) at Kaiser Permanente’s WIC Center at the Kealakekua Business Plaza. The inspection is for free for anyone who makes an appointment.
Traffic crashes are the leading cause of death for children over one year of age and child. Passenger restraints can reduce deaths by as much as 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers, but up to 80 percent are not installed or used correctly.
