The Annual Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Tournament is slated to begin on Monday, October 31 at the Waikoloa Resort Golf Complex.
The two-day tournament field includes men’s and women’s team from the Academy of Art University, California State University East Bay, Cal State Monterey Bay, Sonoma State University, Grand Canyon University, St. Martin’s University and host University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Also participating in the women’s field are squads from the University of Redlands (Calif.) and Montana State University Billings. Joining the men’s field are Brigham Young University-Hawaii and Hawaii Pacific University.
The women will compete on the 5,958-yard, par-70 Waikoloa Beach Course while the men will be on the 7,074-yard, par-72 Waikoloa Kings’ Course.
Participants will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday. Tee times for both days have yet to be determined but will begin at 7 a.m.
Practice rounds will be held on Sunday, October 30 with 12:30 p.m. shotgun starts on both courses.
Grand Canyon is the defending women’s champion while Cal State Monterey Bay is the defending men’s champion.
Also back to defend her title is GCU’s Tiffany Hewetson who won the 2010 tournament with a 10-over-par 226 (76-75-75).
