‘Made in America’ at Four Seasons Hualalai

Four Seasons Resort Hualalai at Historic Kaupulehu, the first and only AAA Five-Diamond and Forbes Five-Star resort on Hawaii Island, will play host to a weekend of culinary experiences (Oct. 28-30) in celebrating noted food author Lucy Lean’s new book Made in America: Our Best Chefs Reinvent Comfort Food.

Ludo and Krissy Lefebvre (LudoBites, Sundance Channel’s LudoBites America, Top Chef Masters), Evan Kleiman (Angeli Caffe, KCRW’s Good Food) and Peter Merriman (Merriman’s Restaurants) join hosts James Babian (executive chef, Four Seasons Resort Hualālai) and Linda Rodriguez (pastry chef, Four Seasons Resort Hualālai.)

Each of the participating chefs is featured in Made in America, which recreates America’s classic comfort food dishes, reinvented by 100 of today’s top chefs.

“We’re excited to be a part of Lucy Lean’s book release celebrations, and to have these esteemed chefs join us here at the Resort,” said Robert Whitfield, regional vice president and general manager of Four Seasons Resort Hualalai. “We’ve got a great weekend of dining and spectacular culinary experiences with our special guests ahead.”

The Made in America weekend will include:

* Cooking class with Ludo Lefebvre and Lucy Lean (mussel veloute, Hawaiian-style)
* Cooking class with Evan Kleiman and Lucy Lean (Pie-Making 101)
* Cooking class with Evan Kleiman and Nick Mastrascusa (potato gnocchi)
* “Meet the Chefs” cocktail reception
* Dinner by Peter Merriman, James Babian and Linda Rodriguez
* Fishing trip with Ludo Lefebvre
* Farm trip and lunch with James Babian
* Five-course Made in America dinner, featuring the chefs, with wines from Joe Bastianich
* Farmer’s brunch with live action stations
