Downed pole causes 1,441 HELCO customers to lose power early Thursday morning

MEDIA RELEASE

Hawaii Electric Light Company (HELCO) has announced that at 2:14 a.m. on October 20, 2011, power was interrupted to 1,441 customers in the Kailua area due to an automobile accident near the corner of Luhia St. and Kaiwi St which caused a downed utility pole. Power was restored to all customers by 8:00 a.m.

HELCO apologizes for any inconvenience this may have caused and sincerely thanks customers for their cooperation and understanding. Mahalo.
