The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for the East facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui and Big Island from 6 a.m. Monday (Oct 17) through 6 p.m. Tuesday (Oct 18).
A building Northeast swell is expected to peak later today creating surf in the six to 10 foot range along East facing shores.
Because of the high surf swimmers and beachgoers should be cautious of strong rip currents and beach erosion.
A moderate South swell is also expected to arrive today, peak tonight then lower in the middle of the week.
