Fire/rescue crews responded to a 10:24 p.m. alarm Friday (Oct 14) to 18-1223 Waikiki Street in Mountain View for a structure fire. Firefighters found the remnants of a wooden structure burned down to the ground. Fire also burned the bed of a pickup truck containing trash and a tire.

Using county records the firefighters determined that the structure was an 800 square foot, two-story wooden home. The home and property loss was estimated to be $45,000. There were no injuries reported and crews were back at their stations by 1:30 a.m. Saturday.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
