Tickets on sale for Hilo Medical Center fundraiser

Hilo Medical Center Foundation’s Wine, Cheese, Chocolate and MORE! Event

Tickets are now available for the Hilo Medical Center Foundation’s 9th annual Wine, Cheese, Chocolate and More! fundraiser. The benefit will be held Sunday, November 6 from 4:00– 7:00 pm at the Hilo Hawaiian’s Moku Ola Room.

The Foundation’s much expanded annual event features creatively prepared appetizers by Executive Chef Piet Wigmans, formerly of Mauna Kea Beach Resort. Local physician waiters will be competing against each other to raise the most tips while serving the appetizers made with fresh ingredients that have been donated by local farmers, ranchers and cheese makers.

“We are grateful for all of the donations coming in to make this year’s Wine and Cheese event memorable,” said Lori Rogers, Executive Director of Hilo Medical Center. “Thanks to the Foundation board and volunteers, our wildly popular fundraiser gets bigger and better every year.”

Also featured are a magnificent array of pupus, chocolates, non-alcoholic beverages, chocolate fountains, and other delights. Chef Ernesto will be on hand to help with cheese and wine pairings. Wine experts, Randy Nunokawa and Ryan Kadota will share their wisdom on the art of wine tasting.

There will be live and silent auctions of selected pieces, including artwork, jewelry, hotel stays and other fantastic items. The Hawaii County Medical Society will be announcing the Physician of the Year winner and the Foundation will be honoring new community physicians.

Tickets this year are limited and are available for $55 in advance at the Foundation office, Grapes and Kadota Liquors. If tickets are still available, they will be on sale for $60 at the door. For more information, call the Foundation office at 935-2957.
