MEDIA RELEASE

PBS Hawaii has received a $10,000 gift from Hilo-based KTA Super Stores to support participation in HIKI NO: The Nation’s First Statewide Student News Network.

Presented by KTA Super Stores President and CEO Barry Taniguchi in memory of his parents and company co-founders Koichi and Taniyo Taniguchi, and K Taniguchi, Ltd., the donation will assist teachers and students in attending HIKI NO events and workshops, and help provide on-site training by PBS Hawaii staff.

This ensures that more students from Hawaii Island will have access to this unique educational opportunity.
