Andrea’s Eat Local Food Stamp Challenge: Day 8

She is involved with the North Kohala Eat Locally Grown Campaign and has challenged herself to eat only local foods on a food stamp budget for the month of September 2011.)

We all know that 85 percent of the food that we eat is imported to Hawaii, but the point is really driven home for me when I walk the isles of the supermarket.

Even a supermarket that is aggressively “local” like KTA Superstores is filled primarily with processed, imported foods.
