CrossFit opens in Waimea (Sept. 3)

MEDIA RELEASE

CrossFit AllStar announces the grand opening of the first CrossFit and CrossFit Kids Affiliated box on Sept. 3 in Waimea.

Called a “box” due to the open space and lack of fitness machines, CrossFit incorporates Olympic weightlifting, gymnastics, and metabolic conditioning, like running. These disciplines are all programmed together in small group classes that are energetic and challenging.

While athletes train in a group at CFAS, each person is working at their own fitness level and is encouraged to achieve their personal best. With a goal of both sport and good nutrition, CrossFit goes beyond just getting fit, it is truly life changing.

CFAS is also a place for whole families to train together. There is a two-story kid’s play area to accommodate children safely while their parents train.

And CFAS offers CrossFit Kids classes for CrossFitters as young as 5 years old, up to teens.

CrossFit AllStar will offer a variety of classes throughout the day, including CrossFit Kids, CrossFit Lite and CrossFit with Yoga for mobility and recovery.

In addition, they will be offering a free CrossFit class at 4:30 p.m. every Friday for anyone who wants to attend.

CrossFit AllStar hosts its Grand Opening party 2-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3. All are invited for door prizes – including T-shirts, Inov8 gear and CFAS monthly memberships.

There will also be free food by Village Burger, refreshments, activities for the kids, live music by Don May and a free workout that we will run in heats – no previous experience is required.

CrossFit AllStar is for the community. KC Stallsmith, owner and CrossFit athlete, believes CrossFit is the most effective method of fitness available and wants to share it. CFAS philosophy has nothing to do with body building or fitness goals based on aesthetics.

CrossFit is “community fitness” based on weight bearing and functional movements that are utilized to protect the body and help people in everyday life. CrossFit produces the world’s top elite athletes, but can also serve the average person whatever their fitness level, including children.
