The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for South facing shores of all Hawaiian Islands until 6 p.m. this evening.

Surf is forecast in the eight to 12 foot range lowering this afternoon.

Beachgoers should be cautious of dangerous rip currents.

A West swell generated by distant Tropical Cyclone Talas will reach West facing shores today of the Hawaiian Islands exposed to the swell. Surf from the system will linger through the weekend.
