Tropical Storm Fernanda update for Wednesday (Aug 17)

As of 11 p.m. HST the center of Tropical Storm Fernanda was located 1,115 mile East-Southeast of South Point, Hawaii. Maximum sustained winds have increased to 65 mph with higher gusts. Tropical storm force winds extend outward of up to 80 miles from the center. Fernanda is moving West-Northwest at about 9 mph. Fernanda is expected to be a remnant low pressure system by the time it passes South of the Hawaiian Islands.
