Registration for the 2012 Ironman 70.3 Hawaii is now open. The race is scheduled for Saturday, June 2, 2012.

Ironman 70.3 Hawaii will offer 30 age group qualifying slots to the 2012 Marine Corps Ironman World Championship 70.3 at Lake Las Vegas, in Henderson, Nev. and 28 age group qualifying slots to the 2012 Ironman World Championship in Kona.

Additionally, there will be a prize purse of $15,000 for distribution among the top professional male and female finishers.

Athletes start the day with a swim in the crystal blue waters of Hapuna Beach State Park along the Kohala Coast of the Big Island. Then they take on the challenging 56 mile bike course on the legendary Queen Kaahumanu Highway. The day finishes with a 13.1 mile run through paradise.
