Fairmont Orchid named one of world’s best

Travel + Leisure Magazine has recognized The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii among its prestigious “T+L 100” list for 2011.

Ten Fairmont Hotels & Resorts made the annual list of World’s Best Hotels, including Fairmont properties in the U.S., Canada, and Kenya.

“We are genuinely delighted to have been selected for the T+L 100 once again” said Christof Luedi, General Manager and Regional Vice President, Hawaii. “This achievement, including the unique features that have been highlighted alongside our score, confirms that discerning travelers appreciate Fairmont for our hotels’ distinctiveness, excellence and commitment to personalizing the entire guest experience.”

Two of Fairmont’s Kenyan properties were also named as over all “World’s Best”, including the Fairmont Mara Safari Club in the Masai Mara, rated seventh overall, and the history-rich Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club in the area of Nanyuki, rated lucky number 13.

T+L rates Fairmont Turnberry Isle Resort & Club in Florida as a top resort in U.S./Canada and The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise as a peak luxury resort in the Canadian Rockies.

The Fairmont Vancouver Airport landed among the top 10 large city hotels in U.S./Canada and The Plaza in New York and The Fairmont Olympic Hotel in Seattle also made appearances in the same category.

The Fairmont Acapulco Princess was listed a noteworthy 15th overall for top resorts in Mexico and The Fairmont Kea Lani was also found among the top resorts in Hawaii.
