Albrecht to lead Family Support Hawaii perinatal program

Family Support Hawaii has appointed Bethany Albrecht as interim program director of its Malama Perinatal Program.

Albrecht brings a wealth of experience to her new position including specialties in the prevention of abuse, neglect and domestic violence.

Albrecht earned her Master’s of Education in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Hawaii Manoa, and is a National CertifiedCounselor through the National Board for Certified Counselors.

Albrecht will be leading a diverse team of specialists who provide special resources for Hawaiian, Pacific Island, Hispanic, Filipino, and teen women and their babies throughout the Big Island of Hawaii.

Working with families from early in their pregnancy until their babies are two years old, the Malama team provides information and support such as pregnancy testing, prenatal health care, labor and birth, infant and toddler care, and more.

Founded in 1979 by members of the community who were concerned about the life-long consequences of child abuse and neglect, Family Support Hawaii is a non-profit 501(c)(3) agency that offers a multitude of programs that touch nearly every facet of family life on the Big Island.
