Hawaii County Mayor Billy Kenoi and Polynesian Voyaging Society President Nainoa Thompson will kick off the first day of the 2011 Pacific Coast Electrical Association Conference (PCEA), Aug. 31 – Sept. 2 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village & Resort.

Through the insights of prominent industry leaders, the conference will focus on the opportunities to implement energy efficiency projects, improve facility performance and examine renewable and sustainable initiatives.

Attendees also will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to network and exchange ideas among peers and industry experts.

Organizers have lined up more than 30 speakers to share the latest news and developments on smart grid, electric vehicles, energy policy, energy and sustainability workforce training, power quality issues, energy management systems, energy project financing, renewable energy integration, clean technology development, energy efficiency and more.
