The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a Wind Advisory for Big Island summits through Sunday morning (July 3).

Northeast winds of 30-35 mph with gusts up to 45 mph are forecast. Travelers to the summits should use caution.

Also, although surf is expected to remain small through this holiday weekend a South swell may be building on Tuesday and may produce surf in excess of the eight foot advisory level by Wednesday. A new swell is also forecast later in the week continuing elevated surf next weekend.
