Kona man charged with numerous offenses after ramming SUV with pickup

A Kailua-Kona man was arrested and charged with numerous offenses stemming from alleged actions against his estranged wife on two consecutive days.

Curtis L. Warner is being held at the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $129,250 bail pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Tuesday (June 21).

 

On Friday, Police received a report that Warner illegally entered his estranged wife’s sports-utility vehicle in Kailua-Kona around 3:30 p.m. and removed a backpack belonging to a 25-year-old Kailua-Kona man. Police issued an all-points bulletin for Warner’s arrest.

Before officers were able to locate him, police received a new report at 5 p.m. Saturday that Warner had intentionally rammed the woman’s SUV with his pickup truck several times while she was driving with her 25-year-old male passenger on Hualālai Road above Kuakini Highway in Kailua-Kona.

Within the hour, Traffic Enforcement Officers located Warner driving the truck on Kuakini Highway and arrested him. He was taken to the Kona police cellblock while detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section continued the investigation.

At 5:35 p.m. Monday, detectives charged him with driving under the influence, driving with a suspended license, driving without insurance, unauthorized entry of a motor vehicle, second-degree theft, first-degree criminal property damage, second-degree criminal property damage, two counts of second-degree terroristic threatening, two counts of reckless endangering, unauthorized possession of confidential information, promoting a dangerous drug, promoting a detrimental drug and possessing drug paraphernalia.
