Barbara Chung Ho will be a featured performer for the 2011 HSPLS Children’s and Adult Summer Reading Programs at four selected public libraries on islands of Hawaii and Oahu from June 23 -28. Admission is free.
Chung Ho will present two interactive and customized workshops: “The Folk Art of Chinese Knotting” and “The Folk Art of Chinese Paper Cutting.” Chung Ho will first share a brief history of the folk art and then a conduct step-by-step demonstration on the basic techniques of Chinese knotting and paper cutting, respectively.
The one-hour workshops are suitable for ages 12 and older. Supplies will be provided. Registration is requested; please call the libraries to register.

- June 26, 2:30 p.m. – Kaneohe Public Library (45-829 Kamehameha Highway; telephone: 233-5676) The program schedule is subject to change.
Performances by Chung Ho and other featured artists from the Statewide Cultural Extension Program (SCEP) are co-sponsored by the University of Hawaii’s Outreach College, Hawaii State Foundation on Culture and the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts.
