Aerial flare exercises at Pohakuloa Training Area Tuesday night (June 7)

POHAKULOA TRAINING AREA (PTA), Hawaii— Oahu based Marines will be conducting aerial flare training at Pohakuloa Training Area, June 7, between 8 to 9 p.m.

A Marine C-130 aircraft flying at 16,000 ft. will drop flares that may be visible from communities around the Big Island. If inclement weather occurs on June 7, a back-up date of June 11, between 8 to 9 p.m. is scheduled.

The PTA Federal Fire personnel are coordinating with the Hawaii Fire Department, Hawaii Police Department, and the State Civil Defense during this exercise.
