Konawaena High School graduated its 88th class of seniors Saturday morning and introduced its latest version of the Wildcat mascot.

The mascot costume was a parting gift from the 129 seniors of the Class of 2011.

Four students graduated as valedictorians: Keisha Harper, Emily Matsutomi, Blaine Luiz and Nicolas Cetraro, who also had a perfect attendance record since kindergarten.

Although it was one of the smallest classes in recent years, the students earned $800,000 in scholarships.

Quote of the Day: ‘It was hard. Freshman year was hard. Sophomore year was hard. And I’m talking to the parents! But you all made it here today. Now make good choices so we’ll know you are going to be OK.’ – Kimo Alameda, PhD
