Lions Club hands out scholarships

Lions Club of Kona has announced it awarded and recognized four Konawaena High School graduating seniors with a $1000 scholarship.

General college scholarships were awarded to Anuhea Wall, Rachel Miyata and Blaine Luiz.

Also awarded a Jonney Pha Hodges scholarship, which goes to a graduating Konawaena High School senior majoring in a medical related field, was Carli Yamamoto.

All four recipients will be honored at the monthly general membership meeting in July at Teshima’s Restaurant in Kainaliu.

The Lions Club of Kona is one of Hawaii’s largest Lions Club, and was chartered June 19, 1934. It currently has a general membership of 73.
