National historical parks superintendent’s compendium released

MEDIA RELEASE

Superintendent’s Compendium for Puuhonua o Honaunau and Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Parks is now available for review.

The Superintendent’s Compendium is a supplemental document that addresses specific management needs and concerns of an individual national park area.

The compendium is authorized by Title 36, Code of Federal Regulations, Parts 1 through 7, which allow the superintendent to establish these regulations.

The Superintendent’s Compendium is revised annually to continually address specific management needs of the park. These regulations apply in addition to the criminal laws of the United States and the regulations contained in Title 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations.

Copies of the Compendiums are available at the Park’s Headquarters and at the Park Visitor Center. Both Puuhonua o Honaunau and Kaloko-Honokohau NHP’s Superintendents compendiums have been updated for 2011.
