MEDIA RELEASE
Two Kona men arrested Monday (April 25) for theft of copper have been charged with felony offenses.
Wednesday morning (April 27), detectives from the Area II Criminal Investigations Section charged 31-year-old Dallas Runyon and 48-year-old Gordon Kimo Lopes with theft of copper and attempted theft of copper. Both offenses are felonies.
The men are being held at the Kona police cellblock in lieu of $4,000 bail each.
Kimo Lopes was a beloved classmate from Kailua, Oahu. He grew up in Kailua. Smart Man, Talented Athlete, and Ocean Man. This is very sad for us, having our class reunion this July, and hope Kimo will take advantage of help offered to him. Kimo is in our prayers and we all love him.
I grew up with Kimo. I don’t even recognize him from the photo. RIP.
