The Kona-Kohala Chamber of Commerce (KKCC) and West Hawaii Mediation Center (WHMC) have partnered together to present The Kona-Kohala Grand Green Homes Tour.
Scheduled for Sunday, May 1, this event will tie into Earth Day festivities and feature homes throughout West Hawaii. This will be the first sustainable home tour offered on Hawaii Island.
The Grand Green Homes Tour provides locals and visitors alike an opportunity to tour homes that feature numerous sustainable features, providing an education on building, landscaping and decorating ideas that are earth friendly. What better venue to explore sustainable ideas than those that are proven by action.
Homes offered on the tour feature a variety of sustainable features such as off-grid solar, edible landscaping, recycled building products and furniture, LEED certification, and much more.
Local businesses that have products featured at the homes are on hand to answer questions and attendees have the ability to view first-hand sustainable products and services in operation.
Four homes are offered for visitation in each of three regions in West Hawaii – Kohala, Waimea and Kona.
