Emergency preparedness on Kona Town agenda (April 12)

Where were you when you heard about the Japan earthquake and the tsunami warning for Hawaii? Were you prepared for the impending tsunami?

The only sure thing is that there will be more emergencies such as earthquakes, hurricanes and tsunamis in the future. Are you fully prepared?

Come listen to the experts in getting ready for the next serious emergency. Bring your questions about what you can do to be informed and prepared for next time.

Speakers include Quince Mento, Hawaii County Civil Defense Director, Assistant Chief Henry Tavares, Hawaii County Police, Carol Kitaoka, American Red Cross and Wally Lau, Deputy Managing Director for West Hawaii.

Dominic Yagong, Chairman, Hawaii County Council, will provide a County Council update.

The Kona Town Meeting is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 12 at Makaeo Events Pavilion, Old Kona Airport Park.

Kona Town Meetings are presented by Community Enterprises, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, to provide vital information on community concerns to Kona citizens.
