Kona Town Hall: Impact fees, Kona CDP (March 8)

MEDIA RELEASE

West Hawaii has a severe shortage of infrastructure and public services, like connecting roads, neighborhood parks, police and fire stations and sewer facilities.

How can increased shortages be prevented when new developments are built?

What are Impact Fees and how do they work?

How will the infrastructure improvements which have been identified in the Kona Community Development Plan be funded?

How can it be guaranteed that fees collected from future development be targeted to address the infrastructure and services needs in the surrounding community?

Councilman Pete Hoffmann will present a seminar on Impact Fees and the role they can play in providing for important infrastructure needs.

Kona Community Development Plan Action Committee Chairman Ken Melrose will speak on funding mechanisms for the Kona Community Development Financing Plan.

District 7 County Councilwoman, Brenda Ford will provide a Council update.

The Kona Town Meeting is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, March 8 at Makaeo Events Pavilion, Old Kona Airport Park.

Kona Town Meetings are presented by Community Enterprises, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, to provide vital information on community concerns to Kona citizens. Light refreshments will be served.
