Flash flood watch issued for Big Island Sunday (March 6)

This is a Civil Defense message.

This is a weather update for Sunday March 6th.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Hawaii island through this evening.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. There is a possibility today of isolated thunderstorms and heavy rain showers this afternoon and this evening. Residents and motorists should be on the alert for flooding conditions and if lightning is affecting your area, it is recommended that you remain indoors and unplug electrical devices.
