A man hiking near one of the waterfalls at Boiling Pots slipped and fell off a trail onto rocks seriously injuring himself Tuesday afternoon (March 1).
Fire/rescue units were called on scene via 911 at 2 p.m. and used the fire department’s Chopper One to locate and airlift the victim via a long line from the fall area to a medic unit in the parking lot. The man suffered possible head and leg injuries in the fall and was transported to Hilo Medical Center in serious condition.
