Manago and Keller voted for PacWest baseball honors

University of Hawaii at Hilo senior centerfielder Keoni Manago has been voted the Pacific West Conference pre-season Player of the Year while senior catcher David Keller is a first-team selection.

Ever since putting on the Vulcan uniform, Manago has built a solid resume in the Region. He was the PacWest Freshman of the Year, the 2009 Player of the Year and 2010 co-Player of the Year. Outside of the conference, Manago is a two-time ABCA/Rawlings West Region selection and a NCBWA West Region honoree.

This past season he started 43 games and led the team with a .403 batting average. He recorded 32 RBI, five home runs and was 12 of 14 in stolen base attempts. In the field, he had a .977 fielding percentage (81 putouts, 4 assists and 2 errors).

Keller started 18 games in 2010 and batted .188 with four RBI, a homerun and a double.

The Vulcans were picked to finish fourth in the five-team PacWest race. Dixie State College was selected to win the title followed by Grand Canyon University, Hawaii Pacific University, Hawaii Hilo and Academy of Art University.
