New menus address travel trends at Sheraton

MEDIA RELEASE

Much of the joy of travel is the quest for new sensations and experiences. Among the most anticipated travel experiences is food. Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort & Spa has innovative new menu offerings to address current travel trends. Resort menus are more reflective than ever for guests seeking value, healthy options, shared plates and even shared tropical beverages for two.

“Our desire is to help our guests connect with the destination through new experiences at Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa,” general manager George Reed said. “One of the ways we can help provide a more lasting understanding of and connection to this place and to the Hawaiian culture is through food.”

Most travelers thrive on variety so while seeking food that nourishes physically many also travel with expectations that food will emotionally and spiritually help them connect to their destination.

According to A Moveable Feast editor Don George, “Travel and food are inseparably intertwined. Food is a pathway into a place.”

At Sliders, the resort’s casual poolside dining locale, guests can relax with a refreshing tropical smoothie of the day and also enjoy the Chef’s special Slider of the day such as Hawaiian Style Angus Beef Sliders with grilled pineapple and Teriyaki soy sauce glaze or Luau Sliders with Kalua Pork, braised cabbage and a plum BBQ sauce.

Manta Ray Bar & Grill is where visitors can view Keauhou’s famous manta ray that feed most evenings in the waters just offshore. Complimentary educational “manta talks” take place every evening except Sundays just after sunset.

The scenic oceanfront vista enjoyed from comfortable seating at Manta Ray Bar & Grill is perfect for relaxing and sipping one of Sheraton’s signature made-to-share cocktails such as a Ginger Cosmo.

Kai, the resort’s signature restaurant, has also introduced a new menu that focuses more than ever on locally-sourced foods and includes the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival’s award-winning Kona Coffee Crusted Ahi Carpaccio. Island-sourced mushrooms, goat cheese, greens and fish also play starring roles in a Kai dining adventure.
