…HIGH SURF ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING…

THE HIGH SURF ADVISORY IS NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM HST THIS EVENING.

* SURF…PEAK HEIGHTS WILL BE 12 TO 15 FEET ALONG NORTH AND WEST FACING SHORES OF KAUAI AND NIIHAU. PEAK HEIGHTS WILL BE 5 TO 8 FEET ALONG WEST FACING SHORES OF THE BIG ISLAND.

* TIMING…SURF PRODUCED BY THE WEST NORTHWEST SWELL WILL REMAIN LARGE THROUGH MOST OF TODAY.

* IMPACTS…LARGE BREAKING WAVES…STRONG RIP CURRENTS AND LOCALIZED BEACH EROSION WILL OCCUR ALONG BEACHES DIRECTLY EXPOSED TO THIS WEST NORTHWEST SWELL.
