Thanks to her impressive win at the Ironman 70.3 Asia Pacific Championship, Caroline Steffen has moved to the top of the Kona Pro Rankings list as 2011 begins. Ironman World Champion Chris McCormack remains at the top of the men’s standings.

The big mover on the men’s side of things is Timo Bracht, who is now third on the standings list thanks to his win at Ford Ironman Arizona in November.

After her record-setting performance in Arizona, Chrissie Wellington now moves into 20th. Wellington, a three-time Kona champ, is already guaranteed a spot at next year’s Ironman World Championship (champions automatically qualify for three years).

Other Ironman champions from November have also moved up in the standings, including Ironman Cozumel champs Yvonne Van Vlerken (now fifth) and Andy Potts, who is tied with Western Australia champ Courtney Ogden at 16th in the men’s standings.

The top 50 male and 30 female pros in the Kona Pro Standings at the end of the qualifying year (Aug. 31) will qualify to race in Kona.
