Kapoho Road (Hwy 132) now open after being closed due to downed tree Sunday (Jan 2)

Hawaii County Police report that Kapoho Rd (Hwy 132) is closed between Nanawale Blvd & Lava Tree State Monument park due to downed tree.

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE (1/2/11 8:51 a.m.)

Update: Pahoa to Kapoho Rd is still closed between Nanawale Blvd and Lava Tree State Monument Park due to a tree falling on the roadway. The tree has been removed but crews are still cleaning debris from the road.

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE (1/2/11 9:42 a.m.)

Pahoa-Kapoho Rd is still closed. Crews will be cutting a seperate overhanging branch and is awaiting equipment for the job.

UPDATED MEDIA RELEASE (1/2/11 11:18 a.m.)

Pahoa-Kapoho Road (Hwy 132) now has one lane open to traffic. It will take approximately 30-minutes (11:45 a.m.) for both lanes to be opened.
