Big Island lane closures for the week of December 11-17

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice. All projects are weather permitting.

— AKONI PULE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 270) —

1) NORTH KOHALA
Alternating single lane closures on Akoni Pule Highway (Route 270), in both directions near Niulii, from Kapanala Road to Waikama Road, between Milepost Markers 26.2 and 28.4, on Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for rock scaling of embankment.

— HAWAII BELT ROAD (ROUTE 19) —

1) NEAR LAUPAHOEHOE GULCH
Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions from Laupahoehoe Point Road to Laupahoehoe Gulch, also known as the Second Horseshoe, near Milepost Marker 26.1, on Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily for slope stabilization work.

2) NEAR KIHOLO SCENIC LOOKOUT
Alternating single lane closures on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions at the vicinity of the Kiholo Scenic Lookout, near Milepost Marker 81.63, on Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for sign installations and roadway excavation.

— KOHALA MOUNTAIN ROAD (ROUTE 250) —

1) KAMUELA
Alternating single lane closures on Kohala Mountain Road (Route 250) in both directions from Kawaihae Road (Route 19), near the Waiaka Stream Bridge, to Kohala Ranch Road, on Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for guardrail installations.

— MAMALAHOA HIGHWAY (ROUTE 190) —

1) NEAR WAIKOLOA JUNCTION
Alternating single lane closures on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 190) in both directions near Waikoloa Junction, near Milepost Marker 12.1, on Monday, December 13, through Friday, December 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for sign installations.

— HILO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT ACCESS ROAD —

1) HILO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Alternating single lane closures on the Hilo International Airport Access Road in both directions from Kanoelehua Avenue to Kekuanaoa Street on Tuesday, December 14, to Thursday, December 16, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., daily, for road paving work. Leilani Street will be used as the road to exit the airport during construction hours. Police officers will be directing traffic at the intersection of the access road and Leilani Street.
