Flash Flood Watch
This is a Civil Defense message.
This is a weather update for Thursday Dec. 9th
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Hawai’i Island effective Thursday evening December 9th, through Friday evening December 10th.
A flash flood watch means that weather conditions may develop that leads to flash flooding.
Due to the flash flood watch the following are issued.
There is a possibility of thunderstorms and heavy rain island wide during this period. All residents in flood prone areas are asked to be on the alert and prepare for possible flooding conditions.
All motorists are asked to drive with caution and be on the alert for debris, runoff and ponding of water. Be aware that road closures and slowdowns can occur without any warning.
