Come enjoy free island music with Kenneth Makuakane 6:30-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 17 at the Kilauea Visitor Center in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.
Join Makuakane, a twelve-time Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer, as he shares original songs from his albums including The Dash, White Bath Tub, and Makuakane.
Makuakane is a member of the multi-talented group, The Pandanus Club.
A prolific songwriter, his compositions have been recorded by the Brothers Cazimero, Kapena, Loyal Garner, Gary Haleamau, and others.
His songs are performed at the Merrie Monarch Festival and his music featured on the soundtracks of major films like Honeymoon in Las Vegas and Parent Trap in Paradise.
Recognized as an innovator in Hawaiian music, Makuakane has worked with such artists as Na Leo, Hapa, Amy Hanaialii Gilliom, Raiatea Helm, Obrian Eselu, and Jeff Rasmussen and has over one hundred albums to his producing credit.
