MEDIA RELEASE

Currently Hawaii imports 90 percent of its food from the mainland and foreign countries. Imported food is expensive and usually less nutritious than fresh locally grown food. Come learn how to prepare your home garden and grow your own fresh, healthy food.

Guest speakers are Ken Love, Executive Director of the Hawaii Tropical Fruit Growers Association, Diana Duff, Gardening Consultant and Writer, James Babian, Executive Chef for the Four Seasons, Hualalai, Una Greenaway,
Organic Gardener and Coffee Farmer and Chris Smith, Founder and Owner of Coastview Aquaponics.

The Kona Town Meeting is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16 at Makaeo Events Pavilion which is located at the old Kona Airport Park.

Kona Town Meetings are presented by Community Enterprises, a non-partisan, non-profit organization, to provide vital information on community concerns to Kona citizens. Light refreshments will be served.
