The Board of Directors at Hawaii Wildlife Center issued the following statement:

We are thrilled to let you know that we have reached another major milestone: the Hawaii Wildlife Center building is UP!

A remarkable 86 percent of the funds necessary to complete the building and to begin wildlife rehabilitation operations have been raised. And along the way we have saved more than $100,000, thanks to our design and construction team’s dedication and aloha.

We are now kicking off the fundraising campaign to complete the interior of the building. We urgently need your help to make this possible.

Together we can raise the $300,000 needed to start the interior construction before the end of this year. With sufficient funds, construction of the Center can be completed within four months.

At that point, we will be able to care for sick and injured native wildlife, provide emergency response facilities for natural and man-made disasters, train wildlife responders, support research, provide science education on Hawaii’s native wildlife and ecosystems and implement programs to enhance Hawaii’s cultural connection to the life of the islands.

This is a great time to consider your year-end charitable donations. Whether you donate by yourself or make a group gift with your family and friends you can have a big impact for Hawaii’s threatened and endangered wildlife.

Thank you again for your support.
