The office of Gov.-elect Neil Abercrombie has released the following statement:

Aloha,

We are so grateful to everyone who supported and participated in our campaign to bring about a new day in Hawaii. The transition to a new Abercrombie/Schatz Administration is well underway.

Last week we launched a transition website named after Neil’s vision for Hawaii unveiled during the gubernatorial campaign. The website is a critical avenue for members of the public to:

* Learn more about Neil and Brian’s plans;
* Submit input and advice;
* Apply for a position with the Abercrombie Administration.

Review of applications begins Nov. 15. People interested in applying should make every effort to submit their information by that date to get maximum consideration.

The new governor will be sworn in at noon Dec. 6.
