Recktenwald visit with West Hawaii Bar Association

Mark Recktenwald returned Wednesday, Nov. 3 to Kona as Chief Justice of the Hawaii Supreme Court.

During his visit he addressed judges, court administrators and attorneys with the West Hawaii Bar Association. Recktenwald pledged to work toward a new judiciary complex in West Hawaii, where the family, district and circuit courts currently are spread out.

The new chief justice was sworn in Sept. 14, succeeding Ronald T.Y. Moon, who retired.

Student chefs at Hawaii Community Colleges, West Hawaii campus, whipped up a gourmet lunch called a Taste of Ireland.

The menu included Potato Skin w/Herb Cream Cheese and Bacon, Pesto filled Tomato; Cucumber Grilled Chicken Guacamole, Watercress Orange Salad, Beef Stew Braised in Guinness with Irish Soda Bread, Roasted Pear with Cinnamon Ice Cream, Lilikoi Juice & Ice Tea.
