Fire/rescue crews responded to a 7:16 p.m. alarm for an overdue hiker on Mauna Loa.
The 43 year-old man was lost on Mauna Loa due to darkness on rough open lava terrain. The man was contacted via cellphone and located by rescue personnel two miles above Mauna Loa Observatory.
The man did not require any medical attention.
