Access Information Management expands operations

MEDIA RELEASE

Access Information Management, one of the fastest growing and most dynamic companies in the records and information management (RIM) industry, has announced the expansion of the company’s Hawaii operations with the purchase of certain assets of SIH, LLC and Recycling Solutions, LLC.

The expansion makes Access the largest, AAA NAID (National Association for Information Destruction)-certified provider of secure destruction and records management services in Hawaii.

Access has had a long history in Hawaii of providing businesses a single-source partner to address all records storage, secure destruction, data protection and digital information management needs; the company has been a trusted kamaaina partner since 1981 and was formerly known as FileMinders and ShredEx.

With the recent expansion, the company now has nearly 60 local team members across the state offering services statewide with facilities on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island.

Access has been recognized by Gov. Linda Lingle, the Hawaii State Senate, Hawaii State House of Representatives, Mayor Mufi Hannemann and the Kokua Hawaii foundation for its contributions to Hawaii’s community as Hawaii’s premier records and information management company.

The company supports many community and non-profit organizations including the Hawaii Food Bank, Gift Foundation of Hawaii, Domestic Violence Action Center, Hawaii State Bar Association, American Cancer Society, Action Against Hunger, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and the American Heart Association.

“The expansion of Access’ Hawaii operations is a win-win for our new and existing clients,” said Rob Alston, president of Access Information Management. “Now, even more clients have access to our comprehensive suite of services, which allows them to focus on their core business while reducing the costs and risks associated with managing company records and information.”

Access is the only document shredding company in Hawaii that is triple-A NAID certified for both on-site and off-site document destruction. The company supports its service offering with high-quality service, innovation and a commitment to delivering outstanding value to clients while providing growth for shareholders and opportunities for team members.

Access maintains a commitment to reduce the use of natural resources; all shredded material is baled for recycling back into paper products. Throughout the organization, audits are performed on an ongoing basis to assess and maintain the efficient use of electricity and fuel.

To further reduce the use of fuel and energy required for document delivery, Access also encourages the use of Scan-on-demand. When a client needs a document it can be scanned and delivered via email, eliminating the need for a special delivery, further reducing the use of fuel and emissions into the environment.

Access Information Management is a leading Records & Information Management (RIM) solutions provider and trusted partner to clients spanning multiple industries and locations. Access offers a complete suite of RIM services including records management, media vault, secure destruction and digital solutions to ensure all of our client’s information management needs are met.

Access is an active member of PRISM International, the National Association of Information Destruction (NAID) and an industry member of ARMA International, including the Hawaii chapter.

Dennis Barnedt, Access founder and CEO, is an immediate past president of the board of directors for PRISM International. Additionally, several Access team members hold leadership positions for ARMA chapters throughout the U.S.

Access is also a proud member of the Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii, Kapolei Chamber of Commerce, Maui Chamber of Commerce, Big Island Chamber of Commerce, American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS Hawaii Chapter), Hawaii Hotel & Lodging Association, Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM Hawaii chapter), Association for Legal Administrators (ALA), Society for Human Resource Managers (SHRM) and the Young Business Council.
