The Founding of Halau Hula Is Hawaii Trust and Hula Is Hawaii, LLC

Both the Trust and the LLC grew out of Uncle George Naope’s strong desire to protect his personal interests and legacy, yet most of all to be sure his vision for a Living Cultural Museum comes to pass.

His eyes would spark as he would passionately state: “My life, my legacy is for the people of Hawaii, the people of the world. I want a museum, not the kind with dead people, a Living Cultural Museum.”

To bring about Uncle’s wishes for a Living Cultural Museum, Hula Is Hawaii, is working diligently in protecting and enforcing Uncles wishes. The LLC appreciates all who have studied with the late great Master and ask that they contact the LLC in order to assist each other in Uncle’s wishes for the continual efforts of the perpetuation of his legacy and the legacy of hula throughout the world.
