‘This Week’ features Kapulena ag park

“This Week with Mayor Billy Kenoi” is a 30-minute weekly program on Na Leo O Hawaii community television, highlighting many of the mayor’s activities and meetings with residents around Hawaii Island.

On the program airing this week, Kenoi attends a meeting to discuss the County’s 1,739-acres agricultural park currently being developed at Kapulena on the Hamakua Coast. State Sen. Dwight Takamine also attended.

Also featured on this week’s show are:

* E Paipai Alii awards presentations at Imiloa Astronomy Center
* Kenoi firing the cannon at the start of the Ironman Triathlon in Kona
* Men in high heels participating in the Walk A Mile in Her Shoes fundraiser for the Hawaii Island United Way
* Presentation of a $7.2 million federal transportation grant to the County for new buses and mass transit facilities in Hilo by Sen. Daniel K. Inouye
* The traditional “White Coat” ceremony for students at the University of Hawaii at Hilo School of Pharmacy.

A new “This Week with Mayor Billy Kenoi” is produced for broadcast each week at 6 p.m. Thursday and 7 p.m. Sunday on Na Leo O Hawaii community television channel 53.
