The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii along with 23 other Fairmont hotels and resorts around the world, has been recognized as a top place to stay by readers of Conde Nast Traveler, the popular magazine for savvy world travelers.

This year, 25,916 readers voted on more than 10,000 properties and destinations in this elite poll, awarding Fairmont high-ranking spots in 10 separate categories.

The Fairmont Orchid, Hawaii, a AAA Four Diamond Resort located on the Kohala Coast earned an impressive No. 10 on the Top 20 Hawaii list, with an overall score of 89.2.

The Readers’ Choice Awards names the best cities, islands, cruise lines, airlines, hotels, resorts, and car rental agencies worldwide. Hotels and resorts are rated by readers on many factors, including location, food & dining, rooms and service and more in order to achieve an overall score and ranking.

Twenty-one of the Fairmont hotels and resorts honored by readers this year were winners in 2009 as well, a testament to the brand’s consistent, luxurious service that guests come back for.

This year, three more Fairmont properties were selected as top picks, including: Fairmont Scottsdale Princess as one of the Top Mainland U.S. resorts; Fairmont Le Château Montebello in Quebec as one of the Top Resorts in Canada; and The Fairmont Hotel MacDonald in Edmonton as one of the Top Hotels in Canada.

In addition, Fairmont Le Montreux Palace in Switzerland was honored by readers with inclusion on the list of the world’s Top 100 hotels overall.
