The county Fire Department capped off Fire Prevention Week with displays, demonstrations and games Saturday, Oct. 16 in the Lowe’s parking lot in Kona.
Fire Prevention Week also promoted “Smoke Alarms: A Sound You Can Live With,†increased public awareness through fire safety education and fire prevention programs, and hosted open houses at all 20 of its fire stations. The public was invited to meet firefighters, tour stations, and receive information about fire safety and fire prevention.
