Neil Cabico lost three strokes on the leaders and finished in 8th place at the InterWest Wildcat Classic hosted by Chico State on the Butte Creek Course (Calif.).
Following rounds of 74 and 71, he turned in a 73 in the final round to finish at 2-over-par 218 on the 6,994-yard, par-72 course.

The Vulcans finished 12th in the 16-team tournament won by Western Washington University. The Vikings turned an 880 to out pace second place Chico State (890). In third place was Sonoma State (897) followed by Grand Canyon (898), Cal State Monterey Bay and St. Martin (903), Holy Names (908), Cal State Stanislaus (909), William Jessup and Cal State San Bernardino (930), Northwest Nazarene (939), UH Hilo (940), Academy of Art (943), Cal State East Bay (944), UC San Diego and Notre Dame de Namur (949).

Along with Cabico on the Vulcans’ squad are Travis Russell (T38, 82-77-74=223), Chris Shimomura (T69, 86-78-80=244), Corey Kozuma (T72, 83-83-80=246) and Chris Armanini (87-82-81=250).
